Judy Garland, quotation, Thought for the Day

I’ve been so busy for the past week that I’ve completely neglected my poor blog. So, to ease myself back in, I’m going with a short one today.

(Incidentally, does anyone else find it difficult to make time for frequent blogging? Is it just a matter of being disciplined? I’ve been doing much better since I restarted it earlier this month but I sometimes find all those day-to-day tasks mount up and get in the way!)

Today’s thought is a simple one which is not always easy to adhere to but is worth striving for:

“Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of somebody else.”  Judy Garland

Anyone else find this a good rule to live by?

Oprah Winfrey, positive thinking, quotation

Just have time for a quick post today since I’m travelling. I don’t usually go for inspirational thoughts, mainly because I forget them as soon as I’ve registered that they might have something valuable to say. I came across this one from Oprah (the one and only) and liked it so I thought I’d share:

“The greatest discovery of all time is that a person can change their future by merely changing their attitude.”

I do believe that our attitude to events is as important as what happens to us. Now I just have to remember it. Back to book thoughts tomorrow!
